Dear Students and Fellows,
None of us can forget the blood that has been shed to create the Bangladesh of today. Our independence and this new Bangladesh were achieved through the sacrifices of thousands of martyrs and wounded heroes. We have many expectations from this country, our dreams reach the sky. However, patriotism alone is not enough to fulfill these dreams; hard work and proper planning are also essential.
The challenges faced by Bangladeshi students today are certainly tough, but they also bring immense possibilities. No matter where we are, it is crucial for all of us to start preparing ourselves. That is why I say, don’t expect too much—rather, start preparing yourself now to secure your own future.
Academic Success:
First and foremost, focus on your academic studies. Your main goal should be to achieve high grades, that is, to earn a good GPA/CGPA. These results can open doors for your higher education. Alongside grades, strive for in-depth knowledge of your subjects and develop the ability to apply that knowledge effectively.
English Language Proficiency:
Achieving proficiency in English is extremely important in today’s global context. Make sure to learn English well and aim for a high score on the IELTS exam. A good IELTS score (7.5 or 8) can greatly increase your chances of obtaining a scholarship for higher studies abroad. So, focus on building your English skills starting now.
Research and Publications:
For those of you interested in pursuing higher studies, research is a major field. Start research activities under a mentor or a senior right away. Try to publish 5 to 7 joint research articles (Publications). This will help establish a strong reputation for you in the research community, which will play a significant role when applying for foreign scholarships in the future. Gaining research skills should be an important goal for you now.
Scholarship Preparation:
Alongside your academic and research preparations, also apply for major scholarships around the world. Take all necessary steps to prepare for MS (Master’s) or PhD programs in countries like the USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, and Japan.
Higher Education and Career Abroad:
After going abroad for higher studies, try to establish your career there. Strive to become a renowned researcher or expert. Build your skills so that you are invited to participate in various important projects. By doing so, you will bring honor and pride to your country as well.
Future Plans for the Country:
Your love and duty towards your country will never end. However, given the current circumstances, returning to the country now may not allow you to fully utilize your skills. Therefore, for the time being, try to enhance your skills, knowledge, and experience abroad. When Bangladesh needs knowledgeable and skilled people like you, the opportunity to serve your country will certainly come.
Dear students, now is the time to start your preparations. Dream big, but also work hard to fulfill those dreams. Love your country, secure your future, and get ready to contribute to your nation someday.
