How Are Artificial Diamonds Made?

Naturally, diamonds are formed from graphite located beneath the earth’s surface through exposure to extremely high temperatures and pressure. Intense heat and pressure are applied to graphite, with iron serving as a catalyst. Pressure up to 100,000 kilograms per square kilometer and temperatures up to 25000 Celsius in an electric furnace are used. Once cooled, the molten material contains tiny artificial diamonds that are tightly encased in iron. This iron is dissolved using acid to release the diamonds. Compared to natural diamonds, the size of artificial diamonds is relatively smaller.
