1. Nobel Prize in Physics:

The Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton. They received this award for their research on artificial neural networks. Hopfield created the associative memory model, which helps systems reconstruct data. Hinton developed the Boltzmann Machine, a major breakthrough in machine learning. Their work has revolutionized new applications in artificial intelligence (AI) and physics.

Their contributions have been crucial for both modern technology and the field of physics.

2. Nobel Prize in Chemistry:

  • The Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded to David Baker, Demis Hassabis, and John Jumper. They made significant advances in protein structure research. David Baker contributed notably to protein design by creating entirely new types of proteins. Demis Hassabis and John Jumper developed a model using artificial intelligence (AI) to predict protein structure, bringing a revolutionary change in understanding protein folding.

3. Nobel Prize in Medicine:

  • The Nobel Prize in Medicine has been awarded to Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun. They received the prize for the discovery of small RNA molecules, specifically microRNA. These RNA molecules play a key role in controlling organismal development and function, and sometimes how dysfunctions occur. Their research has opened a new dimension in biology, proving instrumental in gene regulation.

4. Nobel Prize in Literature:

  • The Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to South Korean author Han Kang. She received the distinction “for her intense poetic prose, which confronts historical trauma and reveals the fragility of human life.” Han Kang’s writing stands out for its depth and sensitivity in portraying human experiences, and this has elevated her to exceptional esteem in the world of literature.

5. Nobel Peace Prize:

  • The Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to a Japanese organization named Nihon Hidankyo. This organization represents survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It has played a crucial role in raising global awareness about the dangers of nuclear weapons and in highlighting the moral unacceptability of their use.

Nihon Hidankyo, through the testimonies and advocacy of its members, has drawn global attention to the human catastrophes caused by nuclear weapons and has been instrumental in establishing the concept of a “nuclear taboo.” The organization’s goal is to build a world where nuclear weapons are never used again.

This award is a recognition of their long-standing movement, which has helped foster a strong international attitude against nuclear weapons.

6. Nobel Prize in Economics:

  • The Nobel Prize in Economics has been awarded to Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson, and James Robinson. They received the prize for their research on the structure of social and economic institutions and how these influence a nation’s prosperity. Their work helps explain why some countries become rich while others remain poor, and how institutional changes can have lasting impacts.
