While many of these are high-quality, there are also some non-indexed and predatory journals. Therefore, choosing the appropriate journal is essential to present your research properly to the world.
Recently, there has been a trend of new journals emerging through various universities, specific departments, or individual professors. The quality of these journals is often questionable, and research published in such journals generally does not gain international recognition. This is especially prevalent in countries like Bangladesh, India, and several others. Before selecting the right journal in your field, you should check on the websites of Web of Science or Scopus to see if the journal is listed there. In many countries, even Scopus listings aren’t prioritized anymore; only journals listed in Web of Science are considered. These matters should be thoroughly checked before publishing an article because if your profile becomes loaded with publications from non-indexed or predatory journals, it can be harmful to your career. People are looking for quality now, not quantity.
