A 30-centimeter-long snake-like robot will gradually enter the human body and be able to perform every maneuver necessary to remove liver tumors. This was reported by the BBC.
While this snake-like robot operates inside the body, doctors will simply give it instructions from a distance.
Recently, researchers in the United Kingdom have developed this robot for complex surgeries such as the removal of liver tumors. The designers at a company called OC Robotics in Bristol created this robot.
Since it is still in the early stages in the laboratory, its medical use has not yet begun. However, researchers have indicated that doctors will soon be granted permission to use this new robot in medical procedures. The robot will be able to locate cancer cells in the body and remove them.
Recently, researchers presented this snake-like robot at an international conference called Oncological Engineering held at the University of Leeds.
UK cancer researcher Safia Danovi stated that the robot is still in its early stage, but it is an important breakthrough in cancer treatment.
