“Dr. M. Nisa Khan is the author of ‘Understanding LED Illumination’ – a popular university textbook in the field of laser and LED engineering and solid-state lighting. She received the B.A. in physics and mathematics from Macalester College in 1986, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 1988 and 1992 respectively. She is currently best known for her comprehensive understanding and contributions toward electromagnetic phenomena and devices such as lasers, LEDs for lighting, and RF antennas. Dr. Khan was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh and attended Viqarunnisa Noon School from 1973 through 1981.”
