Recently, we interviewed Md. Nazmul Haque. He is working as a Project Consultant. In this interview, he discussed the subjects of his research and touched on many important points. Read his interview for more details:
First, we would like to know about you.
I am working as a Project Consultant.
What is the focus of your research?
A study on the role of product innovation and service process discovery in small and medium-sized enterprises.
How do your research activities currently benefit us or have the potential to do so in the future?
Knowledge of the role of product innovation and service process discovery in small and medium industries will enable small and medium entrepreneurs, the government, and investors—all stakeholders involved—to make informed and improved decisions, formulate policies, create new markets, and ensure sustainable competition. This understanding will be extremely valuable and supportive for them.
Do you have any special experiences from your research work you would like to share with us?
Through research, I have seen that
90-95% of people in Bangladesh are directly or indirectly dependent on small and medium-sized industries, yet
sadly, there is a serious lack of proper financial support or investment for them in Bangladesh. On the other hand, only about 5-10% of people are dependent on large industries, but the overwhelming majority of bank investments go to these sectors. This situation troubles me deeply.
What qualities do you think a scientist should have?
In my opinion, the first quality that a researcher or scientist must have is perseverance or patience.
Alongside this, they need to keep reading up on current topics, have the ability to manage many things (family, studies, society, etc.),
and above all, be motivated by a sense of national welfare.
Do you have any messages or advice for young Bangladeshi students who wish to work in science?
My message for young Bangladeshi students who want to pursue research is: there is a huge global demand and ample opportunities in research, so start now, never give up, keep moving forward, and success will surely come.
