Stories of Success by Young Bangladeshi Scientists: Unique Achievements of the AIUB Research Team

Another glorious chapter has been added to scientific research in Bangladesh by the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB)’s Ubiquitous, Cloud, and Human-Computer Interaction (UCH) Research Group. Recently, they received the Best Paper Award at the IEEE 4th International Conference on Electrical, Computer, and Communication Engineering (ECCE) 2025, organized by Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET).

The research paper was titled “RoboPick: ArUco-Driven Task Prioritized Manipulation on Mobile Robotic Systems”. This was a collaborative research project, with AIUB researchers working alongside students from the University of Girona, Spain and the Queen Mary University of London, UK.

Previously, in 2024, this research team had won the Best Paper Award at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics, Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet of Things (RAAICON). That research was titled “CCFD-SSL: Optimizing Real-Time Credit Card Fraud Detection Using Self-Supervised Learning and Contrastive Representations”. It was completed in collaboration with students from Washington University of Science and Technology, USA.

AIUB’s Progress on the Path of Research and Innovation

This research team from AIUB is led by Professor Dr. Kamruddin Nur. The team also includes Assistant Professor Aminun Nahar and Lecturer Shahnaz Parvin. This team is actively working in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, robotics, and cybersecurity.

Such success in international research at the university level is highly significant for Bangladesh. It is not only a matter of pride for AIUB, but also serves as a source of inspiration for science students throughout the country.
