1. Neighborhood Program: Three Months of Coder Residence in San Francisco
If you can code for 100 hours and build a web or mobile app during May, you’ll be able to fly to San Francisco from June—with GitHub covering your plane ticket, meals, and your own two-bedroom apartment! There’s no selection process for this program—just code, and head straight to San Francisco!
2. Shipwrecked Hackathon: A Festival of Tech on Boston’s Island
From August 8–11, GitHub is hosting a hackathon on a private island! To join, you have to build four projects, one of which must earn 150 stars on GitHub. Those who are selected will also have their flight expenses partially covered by the organizers.
3. Highway Hardware Challenge: Bring Your Device to GitHub
This is GitHub’s boldest open-source hardware project challenge yet. Selected participants will join an in-person hackathon at GitHub headquarters. Already, teenagers aged 16 and 17 have built amazing hardware devices like the Ender X4 and NigiriPad!
