The Rotation of the Sun

Dear little friends, you know that the Earth revolves around the Sun and that the Sun just stands still and watches the Earth as it moves; is that so? Actually, that’s not the case. The Sun is also rotating. Surprised to hear that, aren’t you? Now, listen to the story of how it rotates: The Earth and the Sun are two different objects. One is a blazing star and the other is its planet—our very own Earth; because they are separate bodies, their motions are a bit different. Many of you know how the Earth spins; like a top, it spins on its own axis and, instead of staying in one place, our planet orbits the Sun from millions of miles away. It takes a whole year to complete one orbit. And the Sun spins in place, like a top too. It is also said that the Sun revolves around a star named Vega, but this hasn’t been proven yet.
