Today, the connection built among people across the world relies primarily on one key device. That device is the telephone. But how was this device invented?
These days, the telephone is presented in so many different forms—it can truly be described as colorful in its variety. Thanks to the telephone, people far away from each other have come much closer. In 1870, two inventors, Elisha Gray and Alexander Graham Bell, independently created telephone devices. Their inventions became the subject of much controversy. In the end, it was Alexander Graham Bell who was able to secure the first telephone patent. In 1875, he was recognized as the inventor of the world’s first telephone.
A particular incident made Bell especially alert. It was around 1875 when he was deeply involved in research about sending multiple messages via telegraph. While working, he began to think about transmitting sound using electricity. Suddenly, the sound of a spring vibrating through the wire caught his attention. This sparked Bell’s intense research, through which he became the first to conceptualize the correct principles behind the telephone.
Initially, it was only possible to talk through the telephone using wires. This process has undergone significant changes. Now, it is much easier to talk using wireless methods. People can talk on mobile phones without any wires, and even landline phones can now be used wirelessly thanks to wireless technology.
