The University Rover Challenge (URC) is one of the world’s most prestigious robotics competitions, held annually in Southern Utah, USA. In this year’s URC-2021, a total of 105 teams from various continents participated. After several phases of competition, 36 teams were selected for the final round. In the finals, a team from Bangladesh’s MIST (Military Institute of Science and Technology) took part and proudly became the world champion. Surpassing teams from America, Europe, and many other continents, this achievement of “MIST – Mongol Barota” is exceptionally rare and marks Bangladesh’s highest accomplishment in the history of URC. The team was supervised by Colonel Md. Shahjahan Mojib and Professor Dr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman from MIST’s CSE Department.
