Plastic pollution is now one of the greatest environmental threats facing our planet. The use of plastic is increasing in every sector—industry, medicine, food packaging—but its environmental cost is tremendous. At such a critical time, high-quality research on sustainable materials, bioplastics, life cycle assessment (LCA), waste management, and pollution control is being conducted in various countries around the world, and among those contributing is Bangladeshi young scientist Manjurul Islam.
He is currently a PhD researcher at the Civil & Infrastructure Engineering Department of RMIT University in Australia. Before that, he completed his BSc (Honors) and MSc in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from Islamic University, Kushtia, and worked for two years as a Graduate Research Assistant at Hanyang University in South Korea. Currently, he conducts international-level research on the environmental impact of bioplastics, life cycle assessment, waste management, and wastewater treatment, and has already authored studies published in several high-impact journals. He is building a successful research career by applying his perspectives and expertise to viable solutions for global environmental crises.
