However, in reality, it’s not quite so simple. The main issue is that since solar cells collect energy from light, it becomes impossible to drive on cloudy days or in the evenings when there is less light. Suppose you took a solar car out for a trip, and suddenly the weather changed, which happens quite often. The sky gets covered with clouds. What would happen then? The car would stop working and come to a halt right there. You can easily imagine the position you’d be in. This is one of the main problems of solar cars.
