We have seen the use of artificial intelligence technology in various countries and fields. However, the positive impact we all expect from it may not always be the case. Especially, efforts are underway to use AI for developing automatic unmanned lethal weapons. Already, the United States has conducted military operations in several countries using unmanned helicopter drones. While these drones have so far been controlled by humans, experiments are ongoing to replace humans with artificial intelligence. If AI is used for human killing, it could one day bring destruction to human society itself. Technologists have already raised their voices against this dangerous application. Leaders in the global technology sector have written letters to the United Nations urging a ban on the use of AI and robotics technology in weapons and warfare.
