Scientists have been working for many years on how nanotechnology can advance medical science. In particular, there is significant interest among researchers in working with DNA. This emerging field of science is called nanomedicine. Recently, one of Bangladesh’s talented scientists, Dr. Masudur Rahman, achieved remarkable success using DNA. Dr. Masudur’s article in the JACS journal created quite a stir among scientists. In this scientific paper, he demonstrated how carbon nanotubes can be connected using DNA to create nano-sized structures as desired. This special technology is called origami, which was first successfully developed by Dr. Rothemann from Caltech in 2006. Dr. Masudur is currently working as a scientist at Marshall University in the United States. In an interview with NBIIS, he mentioned that in Bangladesh, we are primarily technology consumers, but he is keen to see Bangladesh become a country that creates technology.
