In Bangladesh, fire extinguishers are commonly available in 10, 5, and 2 pound weights.
Instructions for Use
To use a fire extinguisher, first remove its safety pin. Do not stand directly facing the fire; instead, stand a little distance away and point the nozzle towards the source of the fire. Then press the handle, and the extinguishing agent will be released. Keep it going until the fire is completely extinguished.
Precautions:
– Install the fire extinguisher at least five feet above the floor to keep it out of children’s reach.
– Never keep the fire extinguisher locked up.
– As soon as its expiration date is reached, have it serviced and made operational again.
